Full-depth rehabilitation and widening of a 38 km strategic highway corridor, including drainage, signage and safety barriers.
AUC delivered the rehabilitation of a heavily used 38 km highway corridor connecting Tikrit and Baiji. The works were phased to keep at least one lane in each direction open throughout construction.
The scope covered removal of failed pavement layers, reconstruction of the sub-base, asphalt paving, shoulder widening, culvert repair and installation of new road markings, signage and guard rails.
The corridor was handed over on programme and continues to carry both commercial freight and public traffic.
